I love homemade bread just about as much as I love trying to think up some new variation to try! My family really enjoyed this new one for us, so I hope you will too.

I used our BASIC Bread recipe (above) and did the following variation:
Add all the liquid ingredients into bread machine pan, then add the following:
1 cup Raisins 1 Apple cut in small pieces, and 1 Tblsp Cinnamon
Afterwards, add dry ingredients as normal. I put this on the dough cycle of my bread maker. After an hour & a half when the dough cycle is complete, I roll it out onto an oiled surface. I form long “snakes” as my children call them, and then roll them around my thumb. I place them on a stone in a 175 degrees oven to rise for approximately 45 minutes. Then turn up the oven temp (without opening the oven so that the bread will not fall) to 350 degrees. They bake for approximately 10-15 minutes depending on the size of the bread. They are finished when golden brown on both sides.
Take out the bread & place on a cooling rack. While this is cooling, mix together approximately 3/4 cups powdered sugar and 1-2 tblsp orange juice. Drizzle this over the warm bread! If your family is like my family….they won’t last long!
