Whether our world begins to resemble something somewhere between Mad Max and The Walking Dead, or the Fed (and the CDC!) manages to keep things rolling merrily along for the foreseeable future, the benefits to being prepared, to having a pantry so well-stocked your friends think you’ve started a COSTCO in your basement, are numerous and easy to list (the main one, for me anyway, being that we don’t have to go to the grocery store every other day!). The Long Wait
We started prepping, really prepping, in 2008. Although that was doubtless late in the game for those who ‘saw it coming’ in the 90’s and proved it even more by not getting rid of their preps after Y2K fizzeled into nothing, the economic situation in 2008 made it more than just a hypothetical for us. Five ways to fight the system
If there’s anything today’s powers-that-be hate, it’s self-sufficiency. While he teaches specifics that any family who wants to get out of debt and attain to financial freedom should follow, the basic things we have done to get and (for the most part) stay out of … [Read more...]
All I want for Christmas is a doomsday bunker!
I was watching the news during the big lotto frenzy. They were interviewing people off the street, asking them what they would do if they won the big bucks. I took notice when one guy said that he’d build his very own ‘doomsday bunker,’ because, like, “you never know what could happen, ya know?” Word. It’s a real sign of the times when random people off the street want to spend their millions not on mansions, shiny cars, or expensive vacations, but on the perfect doomsday bunker, complete … [Read more...]
