A couple of weeks ago I went to Las Vegas for a business conference for four nights. In all our ten years of marriage, until then, Kim and I had never been apart more than two nights, and that only once. As the time approached we each had quite differing feelings about this trip. For some odd reason the prospect of taking care of four little kids for five days and four nights, alone, didn’t appeal to her. Sure, she’d miss ME and all that, but let’s face it, she would have never had that many … [Read more...]
That magnificent THIEF in everyone’s pocket!
I don’t know how I avoided it this long, but I couldn’t avoid it forever. I had always thought they were over-rated, over-complicated gadgets that the technologically uber-adept play with so they won’t have to make eye-contact with the general public as they zig-zag through the mall and other places where people congregate, or something pretentious people whip out so everyone around them will think they are important (news flash: they don’t). The Tower of Babel ended in miserable failure but humans, indomitable not just in will but also in their arrogance and folly, continue to believe they can build ‘structures’ to rival or even surpass the one who created the universe itself. Of course, building isn’t always evil. God gave man the intellect, the desire, and the ability to build magnificent things. Line … [Read more...]

Many years ago God gave Pharaoh a dream, interpreted by Joseph, about 7 coming years of famine. Because of this dream and its correct interpretation, Joseph was able to help Pharaoh use the present years of plenty to store food in order to prepare for the future years of hardship, thus saving countless lives. Today, from pandemics and natural disasters to wars, EMP threats, food shortages and price increases, the national debt and the constant Fed ‘quantitative easing’ threatening to eventually … [Read more...]
